Terms of Use
Last updated: July 15, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of StoryAudit (the "Service"), a browser-based tool for comparing, health-checking, and auditing Articulate Storyline ".story" course files. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Trademark disclaimer
StoryAudit is an independent, third-party tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected with Articulate Global, LLC, or any of its products, including Articulate Storyline and Articulate 360. Articulate®, Storyline®, and Articulate 360® are trademarks of Articulate Global, LLC. Any references to these names in the Service are solely to describe file-format compatibility and do not imply any partnership or affiliation.
2. Description of the Service
StoryAudit reads and parses .story files entirely within your web browser. Your course files are never uploaded to, or processed by, any server operated by StoryAudit — all comparison, health-check, and batch-audit functionality runs client-side. The Service is provided for informational and productivity purposes; it is not an official Articulate product and is not guaranteed to reflect every detail of how Storyline itself interprets a given file.
3. Accounts and subscriptions
Access to the Service requires an account and an active paid subscription, managed through our authentication and billing providers. New subscriptions include a 7-day free trial; you won't be charged until the trial ends. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges at the then-current subscription price until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we don't provide refunds for partial billing periods.
4. Acceptable use
- Don't use the Service to violate any law or third party's rights, including intellectual property rights in course content you don't own or have permission to analyze.
- Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service beyond normal use through the browser interface.
- Don't attempt to circumvent the subscription/paywall mechanism.
5. Your content
You retain all rights to the .story files and course content you analyze with the Service. Because processing happens entirely in your browser, StoryAudit does not receive, store, or have access to your course files or their contents.
6. Intellectual property
The Service itself — its code, design, and branding — is owned by StoryAudit and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms don't grant you any rights to StoryAudit's own intellectual property beyond the ability to use the Service as intended.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or reliability. StoryAudit's analysis is a diagnostic aid, not a substitute for testing your published course inside Articulate Storyline or Articulate 360 itself.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StoryAudit will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any reliance on its output. Our total liability arising from your use of the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which StoryAudit's operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, and any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located there.
